      If we can find out more about how our bodies work then we can develop new ways to fix them when they’re broken by a disease or injury

      A couple of interesting things we know is that if a part of your brain is damaged then your brain can change so that the other parts can take over what the damaged part used to do. The other thing is that some people don’t shiver when they’re cold because their body develops a thin layer of brown fat which keeps them warm usually around the shoulders.

      My favourite part of my job is solving problems for the patient’s benefit. Things like making it possible for the scan to be shorter so the patient doesn’t have to stay in the scanner for as long because some find it uncomfortable.
