      Thanks for the question!

I think David Attenborough is pretty legendary. He has inspired a lot of people to think about animals and nature and biology. His documentaries are probably some of my favourite bits of TV.

Even if he stole the prize away from Boaty McBoatface…

Have you ever heard of the Feynman lectures?

These are lectures on physics given by a physicist called Richard Feynman. He’s my favourite scientist because he was able to explain some of the most complex aspects of physics in a way which most people could understand. Something that I’m trying to do myself by taking part in this event.

My favourite scientist is Dorothy Hodgkin. She discovered a particular way of looking at proteins and molecules. She was the third woman to ever win the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, and is the first and only British woman to win a Nobel science prize. She was a great scientist.

My favourite scientist is Charles Darwin who is the father of the theory of evolution and he also studied the plant hormone auxin in 1880. Scientists are still using Darwin’s theory to study evolution and the plant hormone auxin over a hundred years later. Charles Darwin’s son Sir Francis Darwin was also a very good plant scientist.

Other really cool scientist is Maria Curie-Skłodowska (Marie Curie), a Polish-French scientist she was really awesome, and won the Nobel prize in two different fields. She passed on her clever genes to her daughter Irene who also won the Nobel prize in chemistry.
