We put in lot of work to make sure everyday radiation levels are ok!
But if there’s a real accident, there’s a lot of different emergency measures in place, depending on the type of accident. EDF Energy has regular training exercises on all sites to make sure everyone knows what to do. Part of being allowed to run a nuclear site in the first place involves proving to the government that you’ve made everything as safe as possible and can handle problems.
