• Question: What is your least favorite word?

      This might sound a bit weird, but: tap.

      This is because, as a PhD student, I have to give regular reports and presentations to a small group of academics to show them how I am progressing in my projects and show them the results I am getting. This can make me very nervous, because in theory if they think I am not working hard enough they can kick me out of university!

      This group of academics is called my Thesis Advisory Panel or my TAP for short. So the word tap can make me a little nervous…

      Essentially I can’t say it properly, I’ve been to speech therapy and everything, I still can’t say it right. It’s the only word I actively avoid saying in front of people so it’s my least favourite word because of that
