The most boring thing about my job is probably when I have to do long experiments on repetitive things. But it’s worth it in the end when the results that come out of the experiments are good!
The best thing is the variety – every week I’m doing something different and learning something new. It’s interesting and challenging and I get to meet lots of different people.

Since I am a student, I have to write regular reports about how my PhD is going. I find writing reports pretty boring, though I guess it is important to keep track of my progress!

The best thing are the experiments. I enjoy hands-on science and learning new things, so I have the most fun when I am in the lab.

I’m excited to tell other people about my work but I don’t enjoy the process of writing my work up in a formal way because I do find it a bit boring. However it’s important so other scientists can find out what you’ve been doing.

The best thing is finding an answer to a problem. I often face a problem which I design experiments to tell me more information then I can come up with a solution to the problem and try out another experiment to see if this solution works. If it does then this solution becomes part of our instructions which we use everyday and it can make a real difference to patients.
