That is a very interesting question! I had to think about this for a little while.
I think science can provide us with lots of useful tools for helping to stop terrorism. We can use science to help detect weapons and explosives and other harmful substances to stop them being taken on planes, for example.
However, I don’t think science can be used very well to stop people from becoming terrorists. This usually happens for political reasons such as war, and that is something that the government has to think about and find ways to solve it.
So I think science can do a lot to help keep us safe, but there isn’t much it can do to tackle the political reasons that make some people become terrorists.
I think science can help but it’s not going to be the solution on it’s own. We hear how science is used to detect terrorists but the only real way to stop terrorism is to stop people from becoming terrorists. Science can be used to help achieve this by identifying people who are trying to recruit and finding out what particular reasons convince people to commit terrorism. This information can be used by the government to make policies that will reduce the number of terrorists
The government works with scientists to defend us against terrorism. I’d hope that the government appreciates the importance of scientists in predicting and preventing further attacks, and gives them the needed support and resources to do the best scientific work.
