Hello and thanks for the question!

I think it was really sad, but at the end of the day making sure that the little boy was kept safe was the most important thing. Gorillas are very strong, so it would have been too risky trying to put it to sleep in case that made the gorilla turn violent.

I hope that lessons are learned to stop it ever happening again.

I think it was a tough situation for everyone and highlights the importance of keeping yourself safe when visiting Zoos. At the end of the day the staff had to take action because doing nothing would have left the boy in danger unfortunately in this case putting the Gorilla to sleep might have made things worse so they were left with only one option.

Zoos do alot to help endangered species survive there are some people who kill endangered animals for money and I hope we can stop these people so one day there won’t be any endangered species

That was a sad event, which shouldn’t have happened. But people did what they needed to do when the little boy was in the enclosure and in danger. Lots of zoos are working really hard on breeding endangered animals and rehabilitating some of them, some of them are doing really good work. It’s unfortunate in this case that the gorilla had to be killed.
