• Question: for example if one of you scientists found a completely new source of energy would you want it to become a global product/energy for machines or a weapon of mass destruction ending most wars or leave it completely knowing what might happen leaving all the potential and knowledge it might give us?

      An interesting ethical conundrum!

I would make it as free to use as I possibly could, provided it was a cleaner option to our current use of fossil fuels and nuclear fission, which produces radioactive waste.

Most technologies have a dark side, where people can use it to hurt others. But the good things that come from it usually outweigh the potential damage.

If I discovered a new source of energy I would tell the world about it.

There are some concerns what bad things people could do with any new source of energy but as a whole I think mankind wants to avoid developing new weapons of mass destruction or at least never use them so the majority would use this new source as it was intended to power the world for the better.
