The closest I get is to put dry ice into a rubber glove. Dry ice is solid carbon dioxide, so when it heats up it becomes gas and expands a lot. So if you put some in a glove and tie it up, it will gradually inflate the glove like a balloon. If you put enough dry ice in, the glove will pop with a very satisfying bang.
I like colourful explosions like fireworks or a supernova which is a little rarer and a bit more difficult to see. Neither of which are permitted in a hospital.
As long as no-one gets hurt and there’s no radiation involved I think explosions are great.
If you would like to make a career out of explosions I highly recommend looking into destructive testing.
@Elliot My physics teacher once pulled the rubber glove trick and left it at the back of our classroom at the start of the lesson. It took about 40 minutes to burst and was an excellent method of crowd control.
Yep I like explosions too. I really like fireworks – I think it’s incredible that it’s possible to plan and control explosions to achieve the amazing fireworks that we get to see.
