      Answer: The chemical that plants get oxygen is called water, and C4 plants produce more oxygen.

      Explanation:
      Plants use energy from the sunlight and to break water molecule (H2O) to produce oxygen.

      Oxygen is a side product of a process called photosynthesis. There are two main types of photosynthesis C3 and C4, some plants have C3 photosynthesis, which is less efficient than C4 photosynthesis.

      So basically plants with C4 photosynthesis are better at using sunlight and water to produce more oxygen because they are just better at photosynthesis.

      Photosynthesis reaction is carbon dioxide + water is converted by light energy to oxygen + sugar
